In the mid 1980's my father purchased a computer and paravia was installed. There is a famous family video of everyone watching as different people took their turns in Paravia. The thing I remember so vividly about this video is how enwrapped everyone was with the game. Paravia was an early text based god game except for a map which depicted how your civilation was doing (roughly). The family video shows my uncle shirtless in front of our computer watching other players take their turns. The video shows him standing their with his hands on the colar of his shirt waiting for a player to complete his turn, once he did my uncle bunched up his shirt and pulled it over as quick as possible as to not miss a moment of the action.

This and many other fond memories as well as debates on how death was determined, led me to want to recreate the game and make it available to everyone. In all honesty, this game was re-built for family. I have built in multiplayer capability plus a full version for moblile play. If you happened to cross this site, give the game a shot. It is quite simplistic, the graphics are not the same as the original and the experience is not exact however, all the logic and core mechanics remain the same. This rendition is not an exact clone, but I wanted to make it something that envisioned the original and added a few features that hopefully make the experience a little better.

There will eventually be two version hosted on this site, classic and advanced. The classic will be a best attempt to capture the essence of the original and the advanced is a new experience based off of Paravia.

Enjoy,
